We have to acknowledge the receipt of that excellent annual work, the Hawera Star Almanack. It is replete as usual with valuable information carefully compiled and of a nature calculated to bu most useful to the residents of the large district within which it circulates The Almanack, which also contains an excellently-lithographed map of the Taranaki Provincial D ibtrict, is splendid value and a credit in every way to the office from which t is issued. — Wellington Press. We beg to acknowledge receipt of a copy of the Stau Almanack, Directory and Diahy for the current year, published by Innes and Co., of the Hawera Star. One of the neatest and best got up book almanacks in the colony cornea from Metsrs. Inncs and Co., of the Hawera and Normanby Star. It contaiug 256 pages of reading matter, including a directory of the West Coast of the North Island from Waugauui to Waitara, a distance of over 100 miles. There is also :i valuable sketch map of the district, with Mount Egmout towering overhead, and a great variety o£ useful information. As a specimen of typography the Star Almanack and Directory r will compare favorably with anything of the kind published in the Australian colonies, and it is to be hoped the enterprise of the publishers will be as aufflciently rewarded as it deserves to be.— Marlborough Ex )>ress. We have to acknowledge the receipt, from the proprietors, of the Hawera Star Almanack and Directory for 1888. We have to acknowledge the receipt of ihu Rawura Star Almanack for 1888, which has been got up with its usual excellence and completeness. It contains a varied amount of general information and statistics, as well as a directory of the various ceutrcs of population in the provincial district.
