The Hawera Band have unavoidably postponed their performance, which was to have been held to-morrow afternoon.
The parcel post charges and regulations are liberal enough in all conscience, and when people who seek to cheat the revenue by enclosing letters or matter which Bhon\& be paid for at letter rates are found ant and punished, the jast verdict would be, "Barved 'em right." That there are such people has recently been discovered, and as the discovery involved payment for a good eized package at letter rates, amounting in all to 19s 4d, it may be taken lor granted that tbe person who had to pay will not again offend. It is as well for all who have inclinations in this direction to know that the postal authorities are on the look-out, and that penalties will be strictly enforced. The fall text of the regulations will be found ia the Star Almanack.
