MANAIA DAIRY COMPANY.
(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.")
At the adjourned meeting of the above company, held on Saturday night (Mr. Newmg in the chair), the accounts were presented for the four months ended 11th January, showing a profit of £37 on the working for that period. There were eight days' cheese-making in this period, and the profit is due to the result of this, although the 74001bs of cheese made had not been sold. Ten per cent, was deducted from the gross weight, and the balance valued at 3£d. It was considered that this was a reasonable valuation.
The Chairman expressed great pleasure in moving the adoption of the balancesheet, and considered that the affairs of the company were certainly on the mend.
Mr. Budge seconded, and the statement was adopted. On the motion of the chairman, Messrs. Yorke and Philip McCarthy were added to the directory to take the places of Messrs. W. S. Campbell and Christie, resigned. The announcement of the willingness of each of the candidates to undertake the responsibility of guaranteeing £50 with the bank was received with applause.
Mr. G. A. Hurley was re-elected auditor. Mr. W. A. MoCutchan was understood to have declined to stand for re-election.
