The fifth series of colonial wool auctions opened to-day, in the presence, of a large attendance of Home and foreign buyers. An animated demand was manifested for various lots offered. The number of bales catalogued was §00. Three per cent consols have advanced 1, they are now at 103| ; New Zealand four per cent inscribed stock remains at JJ96 10s ; New Zealand wheat ex-store is quoted at 32s to 33s 6d (according to quality). The Scotch pig iron f .o.b. Clyde, advanced from 41s to 42s per ton.
