| Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, November 21. Henry Anderson, journalist, has laid two informations in the Magistrate's Court against Mr. W. C. Nation, proprietor of the Wairarapa Standard, charging him with criminal libel. The articles complained of were published iv issues of the Standard of the 12th and 26th September last under the headings, " Red herrings," " The three D.'s," and " An nncorrupted farce," respectively. The cases will probably be down for heaiing in the Wellington Court on Wednesday week. GREYMOUTH, November 22. McCaffery, a miner in the Wallsend mine, was injured in the pit yesterday by a prop falling on him. It is feared his skull is fractured. CHRISTCHURCH. November 22. C. Louison elected mayor unopposed. OAMARU, November 22. J. A. Hamilton, aged eight years, was killed by having his chest crushed between the buffers of rwo railway trucks, about which he was playing.
