SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING.
A meeting of tbe School Committee was held last evening, the 14th instant. Present — Messrs. Casey, Hunger, Bryson, Rowe, and Sisley (chairman). Correspondence was read :—: — Circular from the board, that if Parliament reduced the capitation this session, tbe gr&ntß to the comxtiUte "wi'i be reduced.
Letter from Mr. Caplen, informing tbe committee that in the case Committee v. "Wilson and Redding, a conviction was obtained against Wilson, and Redding was dismissed with a caution.
Letter from A. R. Walker, asking why his daughter was not appointed a cadet in the school-
Besolved, Tbat tbe correspondence from Mr. Caplen be sent to tbe board. ' Two tenders were received for leasing tbe school acre, and a note from F. J. Gane offering to exchange sections. Resolved, That fresh tenders be called for leasing the school acre for a longer period, viz., 14 years. Besolved, That Mr. Walker be informed that all the correspondence in reterence to the appointment of a cadet in this school shall be open fur bis inspection at tut next meeting of the committee.
The chairman was instructed to take steps to bring about the annual school concert.
The visiting committee brought op a report, which was received and adopted. November 15.
