Redwood, and is by Towton (imp.), out of Certainty (dam of Dead Shot), by II Barbiere, Chance by Sir Hercules, Finesse. Vide Stud Book. Cocksube's half brother, Dead Shot, was one of the moat successful sires on this coast, being sire of Mata, Pinfire, Chokebore, Shotover, Larry, and several others. Towton, full brother to the Peer and Marchioness (winner of the Oaks), was a most successful sire, leaving such performers as Tambourini, Lara, Korari, Puriri, Songster, Skylark, and Wai-i-ti (dam of Fusilade), Marchioness is grand dam of Spade Guinea.
