(UNITED PRESB ASSOCIATION.^ SYDNEY, September 19. The session commenced rather stormily last night. There was a scene ou the question of privilege, raised by Mr. Melville, and Sir Henry Parkes admitted that an error had been committed in publishing certain newspaper articles in a book issued from the Government printing office with a report of speeches at Vumer Graci by the Premier to celebrate the introduction of Kespougible Government into the colony. H.M.S. Dart returned to port ye*terday for repairs, having been ashore off Broken Island, in the Louinde Archipelago. The railway report for last year shows that the railways are not paying interest on capital, and that the tramways are paying less than 4 per cent. A special audit discloses systematic frauds in the building surveyor's office of the corporation. It has been going on some lime unchecked. The chief clerk in the department has been suspended. Quarantine has been declared against all vessels coming from Tasmania, owing to the outbreak ot smallpox. Great efforts are being made to induce tha Government to have the locomotives required constructed in the colony. The northern separation movement at Grafton, never very formidable, has been abandoned. A quantity of butter has been sent Home by the Orizaba specially selected, and the best that the colony can produce. The Government are considering the question of a reformatory for boys. Mr. McMillan was elected president of the JFreetrade Association MELBOUBNE, September 19. A Bill granting i&000 to Peter Lalor has passed the Assembly. A young man named Webb, son of Captain Webb, of Brighton, has shot him■elf. BRISBANE, September 10. The Westeria has completely broken up, and it is impossible to save anything.
