It is exp"Cted that the Hons. T. Bent and SI. Davies will be candidates for tbe Speakership in the Assembly.

The Governments of South Australia, Victoria, and New South Wales, have agreed to the proposal for a conference of Postmasters General, to he held in Adelaide commencing on November 7th. New Zealand to be invited to send a representative. Amongst the questions to be discussed are those affectiDg tbe cable subsidies, intercolonial postal reciprocity, and parcels post.
