THE STAR ALMANACK, 1887.

PRICE, ONE SHILLING.

Opinions of The Press. We have beeu favored with a coiv of the Star Almanack for 1887. It is a surprisingly creditable production for a small town like Hawera, and the compilers and printers may reasonably feel satisfied with their work. The almanack contains a great variety of the most usehil information, and'consists of no fewer than 261 pa»es, not including advertisements.— Wellington Press. The Star Almanack for this year, printed and published by Messrs. Innes and Co., of Hawera would do credit to any of the large offices in the principal coiurnercial centres of the*~colouy. Compiled with ability and care, adapted to the wants of everyone, and containing 261 pages of printed matter omitting advertisements, the Star Almanack should find a place in every household throughout the district in which it is published.— Wamjanm Chronicle. We acknowledge receipt from Messrs. Innes and Co., of a copy of the Star Almanack for 1887. As usual, the publication contains much useful information, and should be found very valuable by every settler along this coast. It contains very correct directories of the towns of New Plymouth, Waitara, etc, as well as Hawera, Norniauby, and other places. Every year this valuable almanack shows marked improvement, and we must congratulate the publishers on this evidence of success. The almanack is printed in first-class style, on excellent paper, and we can safely say that the general " get up "is equal to that of any similar publication in the Colony.— Taranaki News. The ar Almaxack for 1887, a copy of which has been sent us, is a very neatly printed and somewhat bulky publication containing a large amount of information ou all sorts of subjects. It should ensure a large sale, and we hope the enterprising proprietors will he recouped for the outlay they must have gone to in the getting of it up.— Taranaki Herald We have to acknowledge with thanks the receipt from the publishers, of a copy of the Star Almanack. It is impossible to give anything like on adequate idea of the real utility of the work, for it contains 261 pages of matter, exclusive of advertisements, and every page conveys some useful information to the reader. In fact it is rapidly becoming a settler's vadc mecum, and can give points to any almanack publiih«d on this coast.— Patea
