LOCAL BILL. THE OPUNAKE HARBOR BOARD ACT. Notice is hereby given that it iB the intention of the Opunake Town and Districts Committee to bring in and promote at the present session of Parliament a Bill, the short title of which is " The Opunake Harbor Bill, 1887," the objects of such Bill being as follows : — To constitute a Harbor Board for the Port of Opunake ; To empower any local body in the Harbor District to devote at its own option a portion of its funds to carry out this Act ; The district affected by the opera, tion of tbis Act is all that area comprised in the Opunake and Manaia Town Districts and the Stoney River and Waimate Road Districts ; To exempt the above-named districts from further rating by the New Plymouth Harbor Board ; To authorise the Board to borrow for constructing and carrying out harbor works a sum of £20,000, at a rate not exceeding 6 per cent, per annum Upon the security of reserves described m third schedule; and rents, profits, and dues charged and receivable by the Board ; To authorise the Board to lease reserves for a term of 42 years.
