WELLINGTON, May 27. Some amendments ol the volunteer regulations are gazetted. Amongst other things these provide that captains of the volunteer force of ten j'ears' continuous service as such will, on application, and passing a qmlifsing examination, lie promoted to the rank of brevet-major, Captiiins commandant nnd captains of naval aitillery corps of -itnilar service, will have equal relutive rank and command in the volunteer force", without the title of major.
