NEW PLYMOUTH HARBOR.

To the Editor of the Star. Sir, — I think Mr. Major's letter commeuting on your leading article re this question will do more barm than good. I always thought that the editor of a paper had the some liberty of his opinion as any other man. Every second person you meet is divided on this question, but all agree that a free port at New Plymouth would snit the Plains fine. But it is like Home Rule for Ireland. Most people think Ireland will and ought to have it, but Home Rulers say "We'll have it at once." Now, if Mr. McGuire can get into Parliament and get us a free port at New Plymouth, he will have my vote. — I am, &c, Parnell. Normanby.
