NOW PUBLISHED. THE STAR ALMANACK, 1887.

PRICE, ONE SHILLING. For Table of Contents, see page -h.

Opinions of The Press,

We have been favored With a copy of the Star Almanack for 1887. It is a surprisingly creditable production for a small town like Hawera, and the compilers and printers may reasonably feel satisfied with their work. The almanack contains a great variety of the most uselul information, and consists of no fewer than 261 pages, Uot including advertisements.— Wellington Press. The Stah Almanack for this year, printed aud published by Mews. luues and Co.. of Haw-era would do credit to any of the large ollicei in the principal commercial centres of the colony. Compiled with ability and care, adapted to the wants of everyone, and containing 261 pages of printed matter omittiiij? advertisements, the Star Almanack should find a place in every household throughout the district in which it is published.— Wauganui Chronicle.

We acknowledge receipt from Messrs. Innes and Co., of a «opy of the Star Almanack for 1887. As usual, the publication contains much, useful information, and should be found very valuable by every settler along this coast. It contains very correct directories of the towns of New Plymouth, Waitara, etc, as well as Hawera, Normanby, and other places. Every year this valuable almanack shows marked improvement, and we must congratulate the publishers on this evidence of success. The almanack is printed in first-class style, on excellent paper, aud we can safely say that the general " get up " is equal to that of any similar publication in the Colony. — Tarauaki News.

We have to acknowledge with thanks the receipt from the publishers, of a copy of the Star Almanack. It is impossible to pjive anything like an adequate idea of the teal utility of the work, for it contains 261 pa^es of matter, exclusive of advertisements, and every page conveys some useful information to the reader. In fact it is rapidly becoming a settler's vadc inecum, and can give points to any almanack published 011 tliis coabt.— Putea Mail.

We have to acknowledge receipt uf the Hawera Stab Almanack for 1887. This Almanack, which is published by Messrs. Inues & Co., of Hawera, has long enjoyed a reputation for being carefully compiled, and we notice that the new edition ia full of nseful information,— Wellington Post. •Th« Staii Almanack for 1887, a copy of which has been sent us, is a very neatly printed and somewhat bulky publication containing a large amount of information on all sorts of subjects. It should ensure a large sale, and we hope the enterprising proprietors will be recouped for the outlay they must have gone to in the getting of it up.— Xaranaki Herald
