i^iOMMERCIAL.— The last three \J months' business have not been lively (to put it mildly), still, as the Major says, with " strict economy," we manage to pay our way and live comfortably. My chief aversion is the small amounts for which I have to give credit. Now, I wish it to be distinctly understood that I am prepared to give Liberal Terms to customers who require to open an account with me. I pay for my goods cash as I get them, and am allowed discount. My expenses are small, so that I can sell at a small profit. Ido not expect to turn my otock over every three months, but I expect, and am satisfied at the end of the year if I obtain a reasorable interest on my outlay. Persons purchasing goods can make arrangements to pay for them at any time when convenient, but I do not like opening ledger accounts for small amounts, and if my customers will bear this in mind, I shall be happy, and continue to sell Watches, Clocks, Jewellery, &c, at as low a price as is consistent with maintaining that reputation for supplying first-class eoods which I have justly won during the nine years I have been in business in Hawera.
