For Table of Contents, see page 4. Opinions of The Press. We have l>een favored with a copy of the Stau Almanack for 1887. It is a surprisingly creditable production for a small towu like Hawera, aud the compilers and printers may reasonably feel satisfied with their work. The almanack uout.tins a great variety of the most useful intortnatiou, and consiata ot no fewer than 261 puges, not including adrertisemeuts. — '\Ve2/iuKton Press*. The Star Alsianack for this year, printed and published by Messrs. luncs and Co.. of Hawera would do credit to any of the large offices in the principal commercial centres of the colony. Compiled with ability aud care, adapted to the wants of everyone, and containing 261 pa^es of printed matter omitting advertisements, the Stak Almanack should find a place in every household throughout the district in which it is published. — Wan«auni Chronicle. "We uclciiowleiWe receipt from MogsrH. Inveß and Co., ot a copy ot the Staii Alsianack for 1887. As usual, the publication contains much useful information, and should be found very valuable by every settler along this coast. It contains very correct directories of the town-, of New Plymouth, Waitara, etc, as well as Hawera, Normanby, and other places. Every year this valuable alaiauack shows marked improvement, and we must congratulate the publishers on this evidence of success. The alnmuuck is printed in first-class style, ou excellent paper, aud we can safely say that the general " get up "is ' eqnul to that of way similar puUiciviron in the Colony. — Taranaki News. We have to acknowledge with thanks the receipt ' from the publishers, of a oopy of the Sr.ut Aimanack. It is impossible to give anything like an adequate idea of the real utility of the work, for it ' contains 261 pages of matter, exclusive of advertisements, and every page conveys some useful information to the reader. In fact it is rapidly becoming v settler's mule inecicm, and cun give points to luiy almanack published ou this coast.— Patea < The Stak Almanack for 1887, a copy of which has ibeen sent ius, is a very neatly printed and j somewhat bulky publication containing a large amount of information on nil sorts of subjects. It ' should ensure v large sale, aud we hope the cuterS rising proprietors will be recouped for the outlay liey must have gone to iv the getting of it up.— , Taranaki Herald. • We Lave to acknowledge receipt of the Hawjeka Star Almanack for 1887. This Almanack, which is ' published by Messrs. luues <fc Co., of Hawera, has long enjoyed a reputation for being carefully compiled, aud we notice that the new editiou is full of useful information.— Wellington Post.
