For Table of Contents, see page 4. Opinions or The Press. We have been favored with a copy of the Stab Alwanace for 1887. It is a surprisingly ei-editaUe production for a sm.ill town like Hawera, and the compilers and printers winy reasonably feel satisfied with their work. The almanack contains a great variety of the most useful information, and consists of no fewer than 261 pages, not including advertisements. — Wellington Press. The Stau Almanack for this year, printed and published by Messrs. Innes and Co.. of Hawera would do credit to any of the lai\'e offices in the princip.il commercial centres of the colony. Compiled with abilitj' and care, adnpted to the wauts of everyone, and containing 2«l pages of printed matter omitting advertisements, tlie Star i Almanack should find a place in every household throughout the district in which it i.s published. — i Wansjanui Chronicle. ' We acknowledge receipt from Messrs. Inres and Co., of a copy of the Stau Almanack for 1887. As usual, the publication contains much useful information, and should be found very valuable by every settler along tlxis coast. It contains very correct ■ directories of the towns of New Plymouth, Waitara, ' etc, as well as Hawera, Nonnanby,, and other places. Every year this valuable almauack shows marked impj-ovemeut, and we must congratulate the pub- 1 listers Gii this evidence of success. The almanack I is prinked in fei-st-elass style, on excellent paper, and we can safely say that the general " get up " is I equal to that of any sjmjlar publication in the Colony. — Tarauaki News. | We have to acknowledge with thanks the receipt from the publishers, of a copy of the Star Almanack. It is impossible to fjive anything like an adequate idea of the real utility of the work, for it ! contains 261 pages of matter, exclusive of advertisements, and every page conveys some useful information to tho re.ider. In fact it i-j rapidly becoming a settler's vade niecum., and can give points to any almanack published on this coast.— Patea Mail. The Stah Almanack for 1887, a copy of which has been sent us, is a very neatly printed and somewhat bulky publication containing a large amount of information on all sorts of subjects. It should ensure a large sale, and we hope the enterprising proprietors will be recouped for the outlay they must have gone to in the getting of it up.— j Taranaki Herald. We have to acknowledge receipt of the Hawera Stab Almanack for 1887. This Almanack, which is published by Messrs. Innes & Co., of Hawera, has long enjoyed a reputation for being carefully compiled, and we notice that the new edition is full of useful information. — Wellington Post.
