The rules of the Taranaki Jockey Club will be adhered to as far as practicable. Entries will be received only on condition that any dispute arising shall be decided by a majority of the committee or whom they may appoint. All protests must be made to the secretary in writing within 30 minutes after the race, and must be accompanied by a deposit of 10s which shall be forfeited if protest considered frivolous. All horses to be ridden in colours. Any Jockey breaking this rule will be fined ss, the fine to the Race fund. Tbe races are open only to horses the bona fide property of residents between Oakura Oeo for one month previous to entry. No cripples or draught horses allowed to run for the Donkey race. Two horses to start or no race, and when not more than two start only half the stakes will be given. Nominations for handicaps and general entries will be received up to 8 p.m on 15th March, addressed to the Hon. Secretary, Rahotu Hotel, enclosing fees, name and age of horse, owner, past performances, and colors of the rider. No entry will be received after the hour named on any pretence whatever. Handicaps will appear in Hawera Star of 17th March, and Taranaki News of 18th March. Acceptances to be paid to Hon. Secretary by 10.30 a.m on morning of races. Qualification fee ss.
