TRANSFERS
The following Uansfeis were allowed :—: — Section 3, block 13, Ngaire, from Frederick Treweek to James Piatt; section 20, block 14, Ngidie, from Theodore Willy to W, M. Kennedy ; sectiou 41, block 1, Huiroa, from W. F. Arderu to A. M. Thomson.
A DIFFICULTY.
The Commissioner stated that a disagreeable aff lir had occurred. Two persons bad taken a section together. One oi them had since sold out to another party, who had got a surveyor to cut the section io half, had fenced off one part, and claimed half the coat of fencing from the remaining original paitner. The latter had come to the laud office to make a complaint, stating that the other party had fenced off his well.
Mr Kolly thought the board should refuse to give one section to two persons, as in this instance. It would be different if two sections were granted to two persons.
The Commissioner said that the course pursued was, at the end of the term, to have the land surveyed, and have plans made.
Mr. Syme thought that allowing people to take land in that way encouraged occupation. The Commissioner stated that the difficulty in this case was that authority f.-r the selling partner to transfer had never been obtained.
DEFERRED PAYMENT THIRDS,
Mr. Kelly asked whether ant information had bern received of the deferred payment moneys due on Stratford and Opuuake.
The Commissionev explained that the money bad been received, but it w;vs so small (some £20 or i"3O to Stratford) that it was thought better to leave it over to the next month. There would then be the JaniiArj instalment.
Mr. Kelly slated that application had been made to the CJountv Council for it
from Stratford and Opunake
