NOW PUBLISHED. THE STAR ALMANACK, 1887. PEICE, ONE SHILLING-. For Table of Contents, see page 4. Opikioks op The Press. We bave been favored witb a copy of tbe Star Almanack for 1887. It is a surprisingly creditable production for a small town like Hawera, and tbe compilers and printers may reasonably feel satisfied witb tbeir work. Tbe almanack contains a great variety of tbe most usetul information, and consists of no fewer tban 261 pages, not including advertisements.— Wellington Press. We bave to acknowledge receipt of tbe Hawera Star Almanack for 1887. Tbis Almanack, wbicb is publisbed by Messrs. lunes & Co., of Hawera, has lon^ enjoyed a reputation for being carefully compiled, and we notice tbat tbe new edition is full of useful information. — Wellington Post. Tbe Star Almanack for tbis year, printed and publisbed by Messrs. luues aud Co.. of Hawera would do credit to any of tbe large offices in tbe principal commercial centres of tbe colony. Compiled with ability and care, adapted to tbe wauts of everyone, and containing 261 pages of printed matter omitting advertisements, tbe Star Almanack should find a place in evei - 3T3 T household throughout tbe district in wbicb it is publisbed. — Wanganui Chronicle. We acknowledge receipt from Messrs. Inres and Co., of a copy of the Star Almanack for 1887. As usual, tbe publication contains much useful information, and should be found very valuable by every settler along this coast. It contains very correct directories of the towns of Now Plymouth, Wa itara , etc, as well as Hawera, Normanby, and otber places. Every year tbis valuable almanack shows marked improvement, and we niust congratulate tbe publishers on this evidence of success. Tbe almanack is printed in first-class style, on excellent paper, and we can safely say tbat the general " s»efc up " is equal to that of any similar publication in the Colony.— Taranaki News. Tbe Star Almanack for 1887, a copy of which has been sent us, is a very neatly printed and somewhat bulky publication containing a larsre amount of information on all sorts of subjects. It should ensure a large sale, and we hope the enterprising proprietors will be recouped for the outlay they must bave gone to in tbe getting of it up.— Taranaki Herald. We bave to acknowledge with thanks tbe receipt, from tbe publishers, of a copy of the Star Almanack. It is impossible to give anything like an adequate idea of tbe real utility of the work, for it contains 261 pages of matter, exclusive of advertisements, and every papre conveys some useful information to the reader. In fact it is r.ipidly becoming a settler's wide mccum, and can give points to any almanack publisbed on this coast.— Patca Bliul.
