(FROM A CORRESPONDENT.) A special meeting of the school committee was held on the 20th. Present • — Messrs. Jeffries, Morgan, Stevenson, Brown, and Gane (chairman.) Be election of members of board, it was moved by Mr. E. B>. Morgan, seconded by Mr. Stevenson, that Miss Jessie Haywood and Mrs. Richmond be voted for; and, on the motion of Mr. Stevenson, seconded by Mr. Jeffries, it was resolved that Mr. John Elliaa be the third person. A ecratoh cricket match was played here to-day. The Opunafce- team bad - arranged to play, bat the weather being • wet they failed to put in an appearance J so at 2 p.m. it was decided to have a game.
