DIVORCE COURT.

In the Divorce Court the case Ryan v. Ryan was heard. The suit was brought by the wife on the grounds of cruelty and desertion. The parties were married at Rockharnpton, Queensland, in 1864, subsequently living at Echuca, where respondent is alleged to have committed adultery and stabbed petitioner on the cheek with a pocketknife. Shortly alter this the respondent left Queensland, and obtained employment in the Gear Meat Company, Wellington, and was in the habit of sending his wife about £1 per week. In November of last year he returned to Echuca, and endeavored to get her to sign a separation, which was refused unless .£3 per week was paid to her and tne children. He then left for Wellington, where his wife followed him. The case was adjourned. , DUNEDIN, August 21. The divorce case, Watson v. Watson and Gillespie (co-respondent), was heard on Wednesday, in which John Watson asked fov a dissolution of marriage on the ground of her adultery with the corespondent. The petitioner is a shepherd near Oamaru, and Gillsepie was working with him, but being suspected, he was discharged. Some time after, Mrs. Watson left her home, and was living in a hotel at Lyttelton with the correspondent. A decree was granted.
