Stud Horses. TO STAND THIS SEASON (1884) AT OKAIAWA, The well-known thoroughbred Entire, THE GOVERNOR. He is a bright chestnut, 8 years old, and standing 16 hands high ; bred by Mr. Webb, of Canterbury, and is by Anteros (imported), out of Revoke, her sire Sir Hercules, ltevoke was the dam of Trump Card, the Premier, and other noted horses. As a racehorse, The Governor has proved himself one of the fastest on the New Zealand turf. Terms — For one mare, £3 ; two or more, as per agreement, payable on or before Ist January, 1885. Will stand in New Plymouth this season. • The Dauphin is a beautiful bay, six years old, has good bone, quality, and substance, combined with size i and undoubted vigor, a grand constitution, and a most aristocratic pedigree, traceable back, on both sire and dam's side, for 200 years. Such a magnificently bred horse has never been offered for service in this district ; no better and purer in the universe. The Dauphin has been a racehorse of no mean merit — winner of many races, amongst them, the Christchurch Derby, '81, beating a field of grand bred horses, with Bst lOlbs, in the fast time of 2min. 44secs. Owners of Day Dawn mares are particularly requested to study this horse's pedigree. Any mares forwarded by train will be met on arrival, and receive prompt attention. Paddocking good, with a stream, of running water, Is 6d per week. The Daufhin will be exhibited at the Hawera Cattle Show on the 4th November. Fees, £4 10s, payable by promissory note at time of service.
