Wednesday, April 2. There is no alteration in values to report since my last. Cattle still rule very low, and are difficult to place even at the quotations. Sheep are more in demand, and will increase in price as tbe winter approaches. Good stores, especiaWy -wet_evß, are vnkuired for for turnip feeding, and fat sheep are not over plentiful. Beef continues at low values. About 15s the lOOlbs is the best price for cow beef. Fat bullocks will command attention later on, as I doubt if the supply will be equal to the demand. Cattle. — At Kakaramea none v/ere sold. At Waverley 179 head made up the sale : Fat cows, L 3 10s ; yearlings made from 24s to 27s each. At the yards to-day IG7 head were sold : Fat cows, L 3 10s to L 4 2s 6d ; forward cowb, L 2 15b ; cows in low condition, 21s ; heifers, L 2; calves, 15s. Sheep. — At Kakaramea GOO were penned : Store wethers, 9s. At Waverley 1447 were sold : Fat sheep, 9s to lls Gd ; stores, 6s lid to 8s lOd ; lambs, 4s 4d to 7s. At the yards to-day 1458 were yarded and sold : Fat sheep, 9s Gd to 10s ; store wethers, 8e 4d to 9s 4d ; ewes, 6s to 9s Id, according to quality. Pigs. — Only a limited number came forward : Porkers, 16s to 21s ; bacon pigs, L 2 12s to L 3. Horses. — I sold a few at current rates.
