Wednesday, 2nd May. (Before Messrs Mackay and BaU, J.P.) A. H. Duff v. Samuel Webb.— Claim for £12 2s, goods supplied. Judgment by default. Mr. Matthews for plaintiff. Charles Gibbons v. M. Hughes.— Claim for .£l4 11s, wages. Mr. Matthews for plaintiff ; Mr. Caplen for defendant. The defence wag that plaintiff had done the work as a partner of defendant, and therefore the court had no jurisdiction. The court rejected this defence, and after hearing the evidence of plaintiff, Mr. Brodie, on the one side, and that of Mr. Arden, storekeeper, and Mr. Maxwell, butcher, gave judgment for plaintiff for £10 and costs, £3 2s. This Day. (Before Mr Mackay and Capt. Wilson, J.P.) A woman namtd Annie Butler, charged with having been found drunk in Princesstreet, was dismissed with a caution.
