TITANIC STEEL COMPANY.

DUNEDIN, This Day. A deputation of the Titanic Steel Company oi Taranaki waited on Major Atkinson to ask that tho Government should give them power to deal with tho 5000 acres of land which they considered they are entitled to. They represented that this is the company's sole asset after spending over £20,000. Major Atkinson spoke strongly as to no real effort ever having been made to fulfil the purpose of the company, and said plainly he did not think the company entitled to the land. Indeed, if it were not for the Dunedin shareholder*, he would not be agreeable to give the company anything. The Government would agree to give the company the -.£3OOO already promiied in settlement of all claims
