Joseph a was sired by Hermes out of Patsy ; Anthony, by Priam (imp.), Hermes ; by Mariner out of Fashion, she by ; Trustee (imp.)— sire of John Nelson 0 — out of Bonnets of Blue. It will be - seen from the above that Newland's , Hambletonian is of the very richest '' trotting blood in the United States. The following is a copy of a certificate granted by the notary public : — " Oakland, U.S., September 22, 1880. This is to certify that we have seen Newland's Hambletonian trot miles out in two minutes and thirty seconds, and quarters at a two twenty-eight gait ; William Johnston, J. A. Kelly, D. J.
