[Keuter's Special to Star.] LONDON, August 30. The Irish constables at Limerick who had resigned in consequence of the dismissal of the leaders of the agitation have now withdrawn their resignations. Prince Leopold, who is at present staying at Osborne, is seriously is indisposed. The Australian cricketers commenced a return match against a United Eleven of South of England, at Tunbridge, on Thursday. The Australians went first to the wicket, aud when the stumps were drawn, had scored 131 runs with three wickets to fall. The wicket was heavy. Wholesale dismissals have been made in the Dublin police force of men who had attended a recent meetiug of malcontents. The dismissal of the malcontents from the ranks of the Dublin police force has resulted in an extensive strike of constables in that city, and owing to the absence of the police from the streets serious rioting by a number of roughs took place last night. September 3. The majority of the constables who went out on strike yesterday have since expressed their penitence, and have re* turned to their duties. CONSTANTINOPLE, August 30. The accounts to hand from Turkish sources' allege that the Greeks were the aggressors in the outbreak at Degair, in attempting to seize certain disputed territory iv Thessaly. It . is now known that several Turks were killed in the engagement which took place. MELBOURNE, This Day. Arrived — Union Company's new steamship Wairarapa, from London, which port she left on the 18th July. She made the voyage in forty-three days four hours, actual steaming. An exhibition, under the auspices of the Sheep-breeders' Association, is now being held. The exhibits are the finest ever seen in the colony. SYDNEY, This Day. Mitchell's premises, which were destroyed by fire yesterday morning, were insured in the New Zealand office for £1000. BRISBANE, This Day. . The steamship Tairang, which went aground in the channel in Moretou Bay, has been successfully floated, and has arrived here.
