• (PBS UNITED PEBSS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, August' 25. The first annual meeting of the Wellington Meat Export Company was held this afternoon. The report Btated that the reason of the delay in getting machinery was that various experiments are still being made at Home, and it was considered advisable to await the result of these before ' hastily adopting a machine which, in actual -working inif?ht turn out to be unsatisfactory. The directors reported that the ship Lady Jocelyn, fitted with refrigerating machinery, had been secured to load at this port with 277 tons of meat and 25 tous of dairy produce during the months of January and February next. Efforts were also being made to obtain other vessels.
