RIFLE MATCH.

There was a considerable number of persons and amougst them soveral ladies present at the rifle range during the contest between married and single yestarday. Tbo shooting was very creditable taking into consideration tbe little practice the men had previous to the match. At the conclusion of the firing at 200 yards range the single men were one point a head ; at the end of 800 yards, the married men gained 13 points ; and at the last range it will be seen they increased their scores to 25 ahead of their opponents. ColorSergeant; Meredith, Quartermaster-Ser-goaut Watts, Volunteers Suiter and Douglas made tbe full score possible at 200 yards range. The three highest scorers of * the match were Volunteer Douglas, 51; Color -Sergeant Meredith, 50; and Sub-Lieutenant Kemptborne, 40. Sub-Lieutenant Kemptborne kindly provided refreshments for the competitors for which a hearty vote of thanks was accorded on him. The firing commenced nt 1 1.80 and finished about 4 p'clock. Both volunteers and visitors expressed themselves highly pleased with the day's outiug. It will be remembered that in the iirsf match between these two teams, tbe married men won by 14 points.
