Mr, Freeman R. Jackson sells stock at Manaia on Friday, 19th inst. A reward is offered for the recovery of a lost roll of notes. Mr. Armando Delamalle gives notice of his intention to apply for a publican's license. Mr. G. V. Bate has been appointed trustee in the estate of Messrs. Mead and McGuire, bankrupts. Mr. Barker gives further particulars of his important horse sale. The horse Prairie Bird is offered for lease. He is half brother to Bylong, and is a well bred horse. He did a remarkably good season in Wanganui and Rangitikei last year. Further particulars may be obtained at this office. Dr. Schwarzbach, specialist for diseases of the eye, ear, and throat, may be consulted in Wanganui (Rutland Hotel), until 20th May, afterwards in Auckland. There is an unusually largo assortment of dress material at J. S. Adams', consisting of cashmeres, homespun costume tweed, rough-and-ready serge, carmilita tenis cloth, wincey and velveteen. The dressmaking is conducted on the premises, under the supervision of Miss Mclnerney. Customers selecting materials can have their costumes made in any style, and workmanship guaranteed. — Advt. How then shall we make good bread P Not with yeast, nor bi-carbonate soda and tartaric acid, nor cream tartar (the latter often adulterated with Rulphale of lime), and certainly not with Baking Powders containing alum, for thin is a slow poison. We say, use the Baking Powder that ia analysed and certificated by a qualified analytical chemist. The Moa Brand, male by Sharland and Co., is pure and wholesome, and has stood the test of years. It makes light, sweet bread, good cakes and pastry; it is rich in the phosphates, and restores what ia removed in the separation of bran from the flour. All stores keep it, for they can sell n >:ie else, when Sharland's is once tried. — Advt.
