[Before Captain Wray, R.M., and James Livingston, Esq., J.P.] ASSAULT.

Frederick Edwin Bedford proceeded against Annie Bedding for having assaulted and beaten two of plaintiff's children. There was also a cross information, the Beddings against tue Bedfords, for beating Mrs. Eedding. The parties lived next door to one another, at Norinanby, and the proceedings arose out of a neighbor's quarrel. The Bench, after hearing the evidence, decided that the Beddings were in the wrong, and fined them ss. The cross action was dismissed.

CIVIL CASES.

C. E. Gibson v. Chas. Davy.— Claim for 11s., goods supplied. Judgment by default. Same v. Robert Brooke. — Action to recover £9 145., amount v te on promissory note. Judgment for plaintiff by default. Henry Cook v. S. Fowler. — Claim for £9 17s. 6d., for board and lodging and drinks supplied. The Court gave judgment "for £8 Us. 6d. The balance represented the debt for drinks, and as plaintiff could not swear that the liquor had been supplied at meal times, the Bench could take no notice of the transaction.
