To start at 12 o'clock. 3. Flying Handicap, of 30 sovs.j J mile; nomination, 1 soy. ; accept* ance, 2 soys. Winner of any handi* cap of the value of 30 soys. or more after declaration of weights to carry 51b. extra. To start at 12.30 o'clock. 4. Hack Race, of 7 soys.; distance, about 1 mile ; entrance, 1 soy. Post entry. For all horses that have never won an advertised race, hack races excepted. To start at 1.15 o'clock. 5. Egmont Handicap, of 100 soys.} second horse to receive 20 soys. from the stakes; nomination, 2 soys.; acceptance, 4 soys. ; distance, 2 miles. Winner of any handicap of the value of 100 eovs. or more after declaration of weights to carry 51b. extra. To start at 2 o'clock. 6. Railway Plate, of 30 soys.; H miles; weight for age; entrance, 2 eovs, To start at 3 o'clock. 7. District Race Handicap, o! 40 bovß. ; distance, 2 miles; nomination, 1 soy.; acceptance, 2 soya. Open to all horses owned for sit months prior to time of entry by bond fide residents who have been living between tbe White Cliffs and tbe Mauawatu River for that time. Winner of Egmont Handicap to carry 51b. extra. To start at 4p m. 8. Consolation Stakes Handicap, of 20 soys. ; for all beaten horses ; 1 mile and a distance ; nomination, 1 8ov. ; acceptance, 1 boy. To start at 4.45 o'clock. RULES. No entry will be received for any races except upon this condition — that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of tbe racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Hon. Secretary, Hawera, entrance money enclosed, with the name, age at time of entry, pedigree, and, in caße of handicaps, performances of tbe horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. Any jockey riding except in tbe colors entered will be fined 3 BOYS. When two or more horses start, the property of the same owner, a distin* guisbing color must be worn. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine of 2 soys. to the race fund. All races to be run under the "W.J.O. Rules. Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. Qualification Fee for Non-members, £1. No other nominations will be received under any pretence whatever after tbe time specified for closing. Letters bearing the postmark of the date of entry, and telegrams of the same date, will be received. All persons intending to withdraw horses, are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of tbe Scales one half -hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule, shall pay a fine of 5 eovs. to tbe race fund. The second horse saves his stakes in all races, except otherwise stated. Nominations for the Handicap Hurdles, Flying Handicap, Egmont Handicap, and District Race Handicap, will close at the Hon. Secretary's Office, Hawera, on 6th March, at 9 p.m. Weights declared on 13fh March. Acceptances and general entries will cloße on 18th March, at the Hon.
