MR. F. R. JACKSON'S FORTNIGHTLY • • r. REPOKT. Wanganui, February 8.

The sate nt Hawera on Friday last passed •off well; the bidding v/aa brisker than usual, and all the lots were sold at the ■ auction. At the yards to-dny a large entry •of sheep came forward, and prices were a little easier. The imported rams made a good market, with keen competition. Cattle •are at late values.

Cattle. — At Hawera, 2SO head were sold —Bullocks, LG 7s 6d ; fat cows, L42sCd to L 5 ss ; steers, L 3 10s to L 4 12s ; cows and calves," L 4 6s; cows. L 3 2s Gd to L 3 10s. -At the yards to-day, 242 were penned — Pat cows, L 5 to'Ls 15s ; well-bred heifers, L-t 2s Cd; bullocks, L 5 Ha; cows, L 3 2s 6d to L 4 5s ; yearlings, L 2 5s to L 2 10s.

Sheep. — At the St. Hill-street yards to■day, 3750 came forward — Fat sheep, 10s Cd; best ewes, 11s j fair ewes, 7s 9d ; lambs, Gs to fis fld ; imported Lincoln rams, L 3 los to LB.

Exports. — 30 cattle and 750 sheep,

Land. — Mr. Wright's farm brought L 7 2s 6d per acre, Mr. Cbubbin being the purchaser. At my next sale in Wanganui I shall offer 70 pure-bred imported Lincoln rams, and 50 pure-bred imported Rouiney-Maißh rams, carefully selected by one of the best judges in Canterbury. Sheep farmers must produce clean certificates for all sheep offered at my sale yards, as it is necessary for copies to be taken before a travelling certificate is issued. Vendors will kindly pay especial attention to this rule.
