* MB. NEWTON KING'S REPORT. Nxw Pltkouth, Saturday. Cattle.— At my Waitara monthly sale, there were more cattle yarded than usual, T)ut bidding was rather dull. The following were sold :— 8 yearlings, L 2 10s ; 6 poor do, LI 10s j 1 empty heifer, L 5 2s 6d ; 2 21-year-old steers, L 4 7s 6d ; 3 good 18-month old, L 3 15s ; 1 bull, L 2 2s 6d. At my Waiwakaiho sale on Thursday, •cattle mustered well, and were nearly all sold at the htimmer, at very fair rates. A large lot of the late Mr. Eyngdon's stock ■were sold, without reserve. There were very few pail-fed yearlings or colvee In the yards ; this kind are very much in request, and long prices would bavp been given. Steers were at about last rates ; cows have advanced considerably ; and sheep were in great demand ; but for bullocks there was very little inquiry. Bush calves made LI 78 to Ll lls ; yearlings, L 2 10s to L 2 12s 6d ; 18-month-olds, L 3 ; young store cows, L3ssto L 3 1 2s 6d ; G quiet cows, L4 l7s 6d ; 2i-year-old steers, L 4 7s 6d ; a pen of fat cows and heifers, Ls3s 6 ; a pen of springing heifers. L 4 18s 9d; springing cows, £6 to £6 16a ; cows, in milk, £4 to £7 7s 6d j 2-year old heifers, .£3 17s 6d ; 1 pair bullocks, £22; some half -fat cows, JB4; ewes, with lambs, 12b 6d ; 1 bull, JB3; old store cows, £2 15s.
