PATEA.

(from our own correspondent.)

The entertainment in aid of school prises took place last evening) and was largely attended. Chorus and concerted pieces by the children proved a great attraction, and in many cases were ably rendered. Readings, songs, duets, and pianoforte pieces were in full force; and an additional charm was lent to the occasion by the excellent performances oi Hie "brass hand, (which considering the short time which haß elapsed since the instruments were obtained) were a credit to the members. We are to have the Lyon's Tourists

Company in the hall en Tuesday next, which will be a great attraction. We hope to have some good companies up now we have the new hall, which is already proving too small. December 3.
