Jackson's Fortnightly Report, j Wednesday, November 30. ] The sales during the past fortnight ] have not been so well attended as usual. * The yards have been well filled with useful stock, but the bidding was dull, with the exception of Messrs. Newland's '■ clearing sale; the bidding on that oc- ( casion was very spirited, and all the lots f were sold at the auction. The quotations are as follows : — Cattle. — At Kakaramea on the 18th inst., 88 head were sold. Fut cows, L 5 ss; cows, L 3 12s 6d; heifers, L 3 ss; yearlings, L27s6d to L 2 15s. On Saturday, at Waverley, 460 head were ; yarded. Cows and calves, L47s 6d to L 4 17s 6d; cowa, L 3 5s to L 3 10s; ■ heifers, L 3 2s 6dto L 3 17s 6d; steers, ' L4to L 4 ss ; yearlings, LI 17s 6d to L 2 ; 158. At Waverley on Friday, the 25th, , 407 head made up the sale. Steers, L 4 10s to L4 l2s 6d ; cows, L32s6d to L 3 15s ; yearlings, L22s6dto L 3. At the St Hill-street yards to-day, 357 head were sold. Fat cows, L 6 2s 6d ; bullocks, L 7 2s 6d ; store bullocks, L 5 ss ; 2-year-olds, L 3 15s to L 3 17s 6d; cows, L 2 12s 6d ; yearlings, L 2 10s , bulls, from L 5 to LlB Bs. Sheep.— At Waverley, 800 were in the pens. Hoggets, in wool, 10s 3d ts 11s 6d; shorn sheep, 7s 6d. At the yards to-day — Wethers, shorn, 7s 9d to 9s 6d. Horses. — Anumber weresold at Messrs Newland's sale, at satisfactory prices. Unbroken draughts, L 9 10s to L2l ss ; hacks, L 5 to Ll4. At the yards to-day I sold nearly all that offered at market values. Exports. — 74 cattle, 653 sheep, 67 horses, and 110 pigs.
