LONDON, November 28.
At the wool sales to-day, 10,500 bales were offered, making a total of 48,000 catalogued since the opening. More inquiry was experienced, but the demand was principally speculative. Parliament is expected to be summoned for despatch of business on 19th January.
Lefroy, the Brighton murderer, was hanged to-day at Newgate Gaol. He admitted that he committed the deed, and also confessed to the murder of Lieut. Roper, at Chatham, whose death occurred mysteriously some time back.
BERLIN, November 28.
Emperor William, who has for some time past been severely indisposed, has so' far recovered that he is now able to take carriage exercise.
SYDNEY, This Day.
In the Legislative Council last night, the Premier, Sir Henry Parkeß, referring to the steps which had been adopted by the Government in dealing with the Milhuro. Creek Copper Mine Compauy started, that with the exception of Sir John Robertson, who resigned his portfolio on the 10th instant, members of the Cabinet had throughout been unanimously of the opinion as to the action which should be taken in the matter.
Another death from small-pox occurred yesterday.
