The Government are taking active steps towards bringing into operation the Thermal Springs Act passed last session. A pamphlet is 'being issued spiting forth in attractive guise the benefits derivable from the hot springs, and the beauties of the surrounding scenery. Carefully selected extracts from the writings of Hoehstetter, Fox, Hector and others are incorporated ; also analyses of the water, and medical notes as to its therapeutic qualities. A topographical map, forming a compemdious itinerary of the locality is also issued The township of Rotorua is being got reay for the markat as speedily as possible. The natives are employed clearing the street lines, and others are. preparing the ylaeeior European settlement.
