AUCKLAND MARKETS.

Mr. Alfred JBucMand's Report. (united press association.) Auckland, Saturday. At Haymarket on Friday (11th instant) fodder was scarce, and brought from 2s 6d to 4s ; small loads, 13s to 17s ; straw, 9s to 20s per load. Horses were yarded in larger numbers than for months past, and nearly all were disposed of— anything of good stamp — at full prices, and elicited keen competition. Heavy draught brought from L3l los to T/33 10s ; medium draught, Ll6 to L3O ; light harness horses, Ll2 to L 25 1 ss. Several good hacks were keenly competed for, six of which sold at prices ranging from Ll4 5s to L 26; and a number of light hacks and ponies were cleared at from L 5 to Ll2; light and medium colts, L 9 5s to LlB 10s. At Remuera, dairy and store cattle were in usual numbers and without alteration in values; fat cattle in less than average number, and at lower values, ranging from 22s to 25s per lOOlbs ; fat calves lower in price 10s each. Store sheep hi good enquiry; fat sheep in short supply, and at extreme values; shorn half-bred wethers brought 17s each, or fully 3d per lb ; lambs were penned in full numbers, first quality brought from 10s to 13s each, but large numbers of fairly fatted lambs ranged from 53 to 7s only. A few pigs, good quality, soft! moderately wetf.

Messrs. Hunter and Nolan's Report. (from our own correspondent.) Auckland, Saturday. Horses. — Activity characterised market. We quote hacks, L 6 10s to L2O; light harness, Lls los to L 23;2 3; medium, L 22 10s to L3O ; draught, L 39. Wool, Hides, and Skins. — Oar first wool sale of the Benson was held to-day. Wool in grease, 6}d to BJd; washed, 10} dto lOjd. Hides, 2£d to 3£dj skins, 2s Bdto 6s 6d. Cattle. — Supply large, demand not keen j stores and dairy stock low ; beef, top sorts, sold well; indiffierently fatted, lower-; we quote, 22s to 27s per 1001b. Sheep. — Upward tendency; short supply ; lambs, 6s 6d to 11s 6d.
