THE MAYORAL ELECTION.
TO THE EDITOR OP THE STAR.
Sir, — I hear that some of Mr.MeGuire's enemies in canvassing against him try to make voters believe that he will not pay due atttention to the new street from the railway station to Mr. Davidson's store. I ask the question through your paper, so that the" matter may bo cleaved up. — I am, &c., High Steeet.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAB.
Siß,—There is a rumor afloat that if Mr. McGuire is elected mayor, he will use his influence to stop up the brewery drain, leading from Princes street. This is so important an affair that the people are entitled to be informed upon it. I have a vote, and if this is Mr. McGuire's intention, I will not only vote against him myself, but will get all I can to oppose him, and pub in a more liberal minded person.-— I am, Ac., An Ei»ector.
