Intelligence has been received from India that Ay o ub Khau has abandoned tbe Governorship ot Herat, ani again sought an asylum iv Persia.
It is believed that the Government, in pursuance of the extraordinary powers grauted by Parliament, are contemplating the total suppression of the Irish Laud League on account of its peibi&Lent attempts to incite tenants to disobey the law, aud its open advocacy' of agrarian violence and sedition.
Mr. Dillon, member for Tipperary, and tbe newly-appointed Prcsideut of the Irish National Land Le.igue, was again arrebted by the Government, and lodged in Kilmanahain gaol.
Mr. Grey, member for Callon, aud proprietor of the Freeman's Journal, who lias been a rested ou account of Ins violeut and inflammatory speeches, was Lord Mayor of Dublin last year.
Mr. Paruell has beeu incerviewed iv the Kiluiauaham Gaol by some members of the Irish Press. He emphatically denies having committed the offence uamed iv the warrants issued for his arrest, aud complains bitterly of the unfair manner in which the Irish Executive is exercising the extraordinary poweis couferred upon it lust session.
Arraugeiuents are being made for a great demonstration, of Irishmen in London, as a protest against the repressive measures which the Government is adopting in Ireland.
[age special.] A tremendous conflagration has occurred at Philadelphia. An immense amount of destruction was caused by the fire, no less than twenty miles of houses being burnt.
A terrible fire has occurred in Dorset, England. Before the flames could be extinguished, an entire village was destroyed, and 100 persons were left homeless and in a state of utter destitution.
A destructive waterspout burst on Algeria, killing G5 persons and c.iusiug an immense destruction of property.
Very heavy weather has been experienced throughout Europe during the past week, which culminated in a series of most violent storms on all parts of th c continent.
