TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
(from our own correspondent.)
NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. At the Land Board, the Banger's report on a ntanbei of deferred payment sections sold during October, 1879, was read. The report included thirty allotments, comprising 1864 acres, of -which 186£ acres are required to be cleared to comply with the Act. There are actually cleared and grassed 315 acres, or in other words nearly seven per cent, of the total area. Five holders have failed to comply with the provisions — namely, the holder of allotment 82, Block I. ; allotment 34, Block V. ; allotment 70, Block VI. ; allotment 11, Block X. The only clearing done on these allotments is on seotion 34, Blook 5, in which five acres have been cleared, and section 1, Block X., held by D. Brown, where the amount required has been cleared, but no seed sown. The Board gave the Ngaire Eoad Board permission to the transfer of £40 for expenditure upon Skinner road of the amount apportioned to the Bird road. Forfeited section 59, Block 1., Ngaire, was ordered to be offered for sale by auction. W. Taylor had permission to relinquish section 38, Block VI., Ngaire.
