From Chairman of Waimate Boad Board, proposing that a delegate should be appointed by the Hawera Boad Board to meet a delegate of the Ngaire and Waimate Boad Boards, to recommend to the Government what would be a fair proportion of representation within the Hawera County Council for each riding. It was resolved that Mr. James Morrison be the delegate for the Hawera Board at the Conference suggested. No date was fixed, as it was believed to be better to leave the date to be fixed by the persons who had to meet.

The Secretary was instructed to supply Captain Wray with the information asked for, as to the works required. Ho (Mr. Bate) had undertaken to act as returning officer, but he had not bargained for extraordinary elections.
Mr.' Allen thought it might be well to understand whether all extraordinary elections were to be paid for in future. The Secretary had offered to do the work, and should have calculated upon the extraordinary elections. Mr. Bate would not press for his account to be paid. He would pay it him•self, and make the Board a present of the amount.
Ultimately the account was held over, to be considered at the next meeting. Mr. Gane's account was held over until the Commissioner of Crown Lands had been asked whether deferred payment moneys could be devoted to settling such claims.
