MELBOURNE, Yesterday.
Mr. Stephen, who was injured at the Jolimont railway accident, died to-day. All the other sufferers are progressing favorably.
SYDNEY, Yesterday.
At the Water Police Court, a prisoner named Annie Burns was founcl to be suffering from small-pox, and was at once placed in charge of the Health Officers for removal to the quarantine station. Thero was great excitement in the Court when the discovery was made.
The latest Bulletin from the quarantine station states that Clement Lindsay, one of the patients confined on board the hospital ship Faraday, died last night. All the rest on board are doing well. In the infected enclosure, Ellen Lindsay and Ally Treve are delirious ; others are progressing favorably.
The new meat preserver was tried at Grafton with great success. It is stated that this method will probably come into general use.
A fresh case of small pox at Newton is reported. The sufferer is a man named Eliott.
In the Legislative Assembly last night, during the discussion on the Ring-barking Timber Bill, Mr. Mcllhone said he would advise people who were deprived of public land, to shoot down like dogs those who kepo them from their just estate, and he w<Aild find money for ifc.
