OPUNAKE.

(from our own correspondent.) Opunake, August 80.

■ The Tarauaki Herald thinks that the agitation going on in the Patea district has had the effect of causing property in Normanby to depreciate in value. It is strange that resolutions passed at Normanby should have been unanimously in favor of stopping the works ; the advantages of an ocean harbor for coasting steamers, with landing charges of Bs. per ton, plua a rate of Is. in the £, are not very obvious to property owners living at a distance.
