New Plymouth August 13. Pigs, Horses, &c. — On Saturday I sold at Haymarket some very fine pig 6 from 6s. to '9s. Cd. ; hack, £3. 155.i new spring trap, .£l3. Cattle.— On Tuesday I held a sale at Waitara, but very few cattle came forward. One pen (0) 24 to 3-year-old steers was quitted at £5 55. ; and 2-yearlings at £2 3s. 6d. At the Waiwakaiho yards on Thursday a lot of tbe cattle booked did not come down, no doubt owing to the very boisterous weather we have been getting of late, making the sale much smaller than it would otherwise have been. Calves, yearlings, and steers of all kinds were much wanted, and ■a good advantage on late rates would have been paid, but few small and no big steers ■came forward. Springing heifers and cows were considerable lower, but they all moved off, a good many being sold after tbe auction. Bullocks were in better demand. Sheep all sold at very fair prices. Very *mall calves made 235. others' 375. 6d. to 395. 6d.; yearlings, £2 3s. to £2 15.; 18-montbs-old, £2 2s. 6d. to £3 155.; 3 young heifers, in calf, £A. ; 10 do, springing, £5 to £6 155; 4 cows springing, £5 to £5 17s 6d; 10 cows, £6 10s. to £7 55. ; 2 cows and calves, jeß to £6 10s- ; 2 cows, £4 10s. ; 1 bull, L 4 55. ; 100 sheep at 10s. ; 2 hacks, L 5 ss. and L 5 10s. ; 1 pair bullocks, Ll6 10s.
