Mess-rs. R. JS. Nolan and Co.'s Report.
At our fortnightly sale on the 9th July, the groceries, teas, &c, brought fair prices. On the 23rd July, the trees from Mr. Hanneke's Rangitikei Nursery did not bring the usual figure, although there was a large assortment of good kinds. We quote potatoes from £3 to £4, per ton. Feed oats, 4s. Seed do., 4s. 6d. Seed wheat, ps. 9d. Rye grass, 7s. 6. Land. — Prior to the Ist August, inquiries were few ; but since tho Government sale on Monday last, we have been completely rushed for town sections, but as vendors are asking increased values, the business done has been somewhat limited. This week two sections in Manaia have been sold, varying from 19s. to 40s. per foot, according to situation, and one-tenth of an acre in Hawera for .£IOO.
Stock. — Our nsual monthly sale was well attended, and bidding was brisk. 130 head of cattle were yarded, being mostly stores, and were sold at satisfactory prices. Cattle — Store cows, £3 10s. ; yearlings, £2 10s. to £2 155. ; dairy cows, .£6 12s. 6d. Horses — There were a good number of entries. Hacks, from £5 to .£lB. Draught, up to je3s.
