Mr. C. F. Barker* Produce Report.
I have held during the last fortnight one trtoduce sale, a fruit and other tree sale for Mr. Mitchineon, of New Plymouth, and one for Mr. Laird, of Wanganui. The attend* ances at the sales were very large, and a considerable amount of business was done ; Mr. Laird's trees in particular fetching good prices, having come to hand in firstrate order.
Wheat. — My seed wheat hare come to hand from Canterbury, and are first-rat* clean samples. I have aold a portion afc fram 6a. 6d. to Cs. 2cL
Oats.— l have sold during the fortnight about 100 sacks at from 3s. 3d. to 3s. 6d. This cereal is steadily on the rise. I have a cargo on the schooner Spec to arrive from Canterbury, and the Wakatu leaves here for Lyttelton on Friday, to load back oatt.
Barley. — My seed barley from Canterbury has arrived, and is selling at 6s, Bd. readily. Grata Seed. — Canterbury rye, 6s. 9d. per bushel. Local, Ss. 3d.; badly cleaned local, 2s. 6d. to la. 6d.
Potatoes. — Market unchanged. Sellers are asking £2 15s. to £i. Very little business doing. Cheese.— l have sold about 6cwt. of first* class local made, at 4d. per lb.
