NEW PLYMOUTH HARBOR BOARD.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR.
Sir, — Since the New Plymouth members of the Harbor Board do not seem to get on with their engineer, there are some here who think the principle which Mr. Carrington laid down with reference to ths engineer and general foreman of works should be applied to the Harbor Board, and that if the Board cannot work with the engineer, the Board might be changed. It is surmised that in a very short time the voting power south of New Plymouth will be sufficiently powerful to remedy such an evil, and to elect a Board which will work with the engineer. It has also been suggested that if the Harbor Board were removed to Hawera, it would be unnecessary for the Board to remove their engineer. — I am, &c, Mount Egmont.
